THE LE TOUR REVENGE 2022

Wednesday 10th of August 2022 it was time for the third edition of the road race in Struer. There was no doubt from f Sports Group and the City of Sound to repeat the race for a third time. The Le Tour Revenge has become a unique part of August in Struer.

As the previous two years, all the Danish cycling fans could experience some of the best riders from Denmark. The Peloton consisted of Jakob Fuglsang (Israel-Premier Tech), Søren Kragh Andersen (Team DSM), Michael Morkov (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl), Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo), and Michael Valgren (EF Education-Nippo). The winner of the Le Tour Revenge 2019 and 2021, Kasper Asgreen were supposed to attend the race, but due to a knee injury during the Tour de France, he unfortunately wasn’t able to attend. This year was the race with most race participants from all over Denmark and some from Germany.

Once again it was set to be an amazing day for all the spectators and there was food and beverages throughout the evening. To make sure that everybody enjoyed their day, speaker Dennis Ritter interviewed the star riders, and a local musician entertained them with sing-along music.

Everybody was eager to see who would claim the victory now that Kasper Asgreen wasn’t there to defend his title. It was very close, but nobody could beat the 2020 Olympic track winner Michael Morkov.

VOLUNTEERS, PARTNERSHIPS AND TV BROADCASTING

Also this time we could count on our amazing volunteers from the local cycling clubs; Struer Cycling Club and Holstebro Cykle Club. They’ve done an absolute amazing job before, during and after the race these past three years. Like the other times there wouldn’t be a race without the continued support from Struer Municipality and our sponsors:

  • Bang & Olufsen
  • Struer Energi

TV-station and streaming service Discovery+ was once again broadcasting live from the event and generated fantastic value for everyone involved.
